Our congratulations to the Santa Cruz Celtic band Molly’s Revenge who recently returned from a trip to Glasgow, Scotland to represent California in the grand music festival Celtic Connections. The festival is a big deal in the Celtic music community and attracts many of the most talented musicians from all over the world.
Pete Haworth, Molly’s British-born bouzouki player, reports that the band had a magnificent experience playing in front of enormous and enthusiastic crowds. “They thought that we had a California twist,” he said. “Though I never thought we were particularly influenced by being in California.”
The band is looking to recoup some of its expenses from the trip by selling a new anthology album of live performances and material from older albums. The new collection is called “Evolution,” and you can get a copy here.
