I’m back from the Inauguration with lots of great memories, a new respect for cold weather and at least one important life lesson: Text-messaging is problematic when you can’t move your fingers.
From this day forward, I’m going to be concentrating on covering the arts and cultural scene from the perspective of this blog (as well as writing for the newspaper — for you kids, a newspaper is an antique form of news dissemination).
In that respect, we’re gearing up for a big crowd at this year’s Gail Rich Awards ceremony, which takes place Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. Things get started at 6 p.m. and it’s free.
In case you’re not clued in on what the Gailies are all about, it’s our attempt to pay tribute to the creative people who live among us. Please come see us on Wednesday. But come early. It fills up quickly.
